My Story
My Story
I started my first plant care company at 10, mowing lawns in the hot South Florida sun. My first “real” job was selling flowers at Market Hall. I have kept aquariums for 30 years, and I became obsessed with indoor plants 15 years ago — at one point I had 100 in my one bedroom apartment! I got serious about outdoor plants during Covid, and now I have a lovely secret garden at my place in Downtown Oakland. Come by for a visit!
An Oaklander most of my life, I went to College Prep for high school and Berkeley for college. For more than a decade I worked as a brand strategist and messaging consultant for Microsoft, GE and Dolby. When AI ended my career, I decided to pursue my passion and start Charles Plant Service.
